Join us for our next Pet Club meeting on Wednesday, April 26th, at 10:00 am in the Independence Center courtyard. Leashed pets are welcome. Follow the signs "Pets & Their People this way."
WE HAVE BIG NEWS TO SHARE, SO YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS MEETING!
Our speaker will be Linda Gilliam, President of Connor and Millie’s Dog Rescue, also known as CMDR (pronounced Commander). They are a 501C3 Las Vegas-based small breed rescue established in April 2016 in honor of two senior rescue dogs, Connor and Millie. The rescue’s name is based on Connor and Millie’s sheer tenacity and determination to survive, their desire to love, to be loved, and their ability to forgive. They accept all ages with a particular focus on seniors and special needs and have placed over 1000 dogs since inception.
CMDR is top-rated with Great Non-Profit, Platinum rated with GuideStar, and has placed Platinum and Bronze in the past five years in Best of Las Vegas. They have partnered with Petco for seven years and are an approved rescue with Pet Finder and Adopt A Pet. Their goal is through educating and community outreach to demonstrate the value and great companionship the senior dog has to offer. Their motto: Age is just a number; Chompies are optional.
Linda will introduce to the Pet Club several wonderful dogs available for adoption.
In addition, she will share Connor and Millie’s wisdom and answer questions.
We will also collect donations to fulfill Connor and Millie’s wish list:
Potty pads and Wraps
Hills Sensitive Skin and Stomach Turkey Stew canned food, and small bite dry food
Small dog collars.
These are their most pressing needs and will be gratefully accepted.
